Here’s how we work, what we expect, and what you can expect from us.
Business Details
This site is operated by System Design & Communication Services Ltd (SDCS) — a privately held Limited Liability Company based in Aotearoa New Zealand. We offer digital consulting and related services.
We also occasionally work alongside or refer to related ventures, such as the Diaconate of Church Technologists (d|c|t). From time to time, we may recommend products or services via affiliate arrangements. If so, we’ll disclose that relationship — but as a rule, we don’t promote anything we wouldn’t use ourselves.
💳 Payments & Invoicing
We accept payment via Stripe, PayPal, and GoCardless. We don’t usually handle cash — and may not be able to provide change — so please don’t assume we can.
Most work is quoted or estimated in advance. Invoicing terms will be agreed up front, but unless otherwise stated, our standard payment terms are seven days from invoice date. Long or complex projects may require a deposit or staged payments.
We also support the Stripe Climate initiative, which helps fund emerging carbon removal technologies. A small percentage from every Stripe transaction goes toward that fund.
🔐 Privacy & Communication
We store only the information necessary to deliver services or communicate with you — and we never share your contact details without permission.
We may send:
- Transactional emails (e.g. quotes, invoices, project updates), and
- Newsletters or updates (if you’ve opted in).
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time — though project-critical messages will still get through.
We don’t sell, rent, or otherwise mess around with your data.
For the privacy nerds: we aim to be GDPR-compliant, even if NZ law is slightly more chill.
🍪 Cookies & Analytics
This site uses cookies and third-party tools such as Google Analytics and Freshworks to help us understand how visitors use the site and how we can improve it.
We do not use creepy tracking pixels or sell your data to advertising networks.
If you’re uncomfortable with cookies, you can adjust your browser settings — though some site features might not work as intended without them.
▶️ Embedded Content
From time to time, we may embed videos or media hosted on platforms like YouTube or Vimeo — typically content we’ve created ourselves via our SDCS or d|c|t channels.
These platforms may collect data or set cookies as if you visited them directly (especially if you’re logged in). We can’t control that tracking, but we keep embeds to a minimum and never use them for ads.
📃 Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all content, templates, and technical documentation developed by SDCS remain our intellectual property.
In most cases, you’ll receive a project-specific licence to use the material as intended.
In plain terms: you get to use the stuff we build for you — but we don’t give away the crown jewels unless it’s part of the deal.
🧯Reasonable Use & Support
We’re a small team — often just one small human and one very large AI — supported by a rotating cast of subcontractors for specialist tasks.
We value sustainable, human relationships. We’ll respond as promptly and helpfully as we can — but we don’t offer 24/7 support unless you’re paying for it.
If we’ve agreed to support something ongoing, we’ll provide clear contact details and let you know what sort of response times to expect.
